Learn Who We Are

About ALTO

The Arizona Labor Trafficking Outreach (ALTO) project is a community-rooted initiative working to end labor exploitation and trafficking across Arizona through outreach, training, advocacy, and person-centered support. We believe that every person has the right to work free from exploitation, coercion, and abuse.

Our Mission

To build trust and solidarity with laborers across Arizona by providing culturally responsive outreach, labor rights education, and pathways to safety and support.

Our Vision

A future where all laborers, regardless of occupation or background, live with dignity, security, and freedom from exploitation.

Meet Our Founder: Ezequiel Dominguez

Ezequiel Dominguez, MSW, is a Chicano scholar, advocate, and Ph.D. student in social work at Arizona State University. He is the co-founder and director of the Arizona Labor Trafficking Outreach (ALTO) project. Born into a family shaped by activism, including ties to the United Farm Workers movement, Ezequiel's work is informed by lived experience and guided by a commitment to justice. He leads community-engaged research and outreach focused on labor exploitation and trafficking among underserved and marginalized populations. He serves on both the City of Phoenix Mayor's Human Trafficking Task Force and the Arizona Attorney General's Worker Protection Task Force and is a graduate of the Human Trafficking Leadership Academy (Class 7), hosted by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. His work is supported by fellowships from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and the Council on Social Work Education and has been recognized locally and nationally including the Arizona Diamondbacks' LĂderes Under 40 Award for his impact in the community.
